BEDRUTHAN HOTEL, A MINI BREAK TO CORNWALL

My family and I spent 4 nights over the Easter weekend at The Bedruthan Hotel in North Cornwall and had such a great time. We went while I was pregnant to spend time away together (for the last time) as a 4 and to get away from our house that was a building site at the time.

The Bedruthan Hotel is a dream family hotel - everyone, of all ages is catered for - parents, grandparents, babies and kids. It caters to every age individually but also allows for everyone to spend time altogether.

The hotel is set on a clifftop overlooking the stunning Mawgan Porth Beach in North Cornwall not far from Newquay. You can walk down from the hotel to the beach in about 10mins - I guess walking up takes longer but as I was heavily pregnant at the time I avoided this.

One of the things that is so great about this hotel are the facilities. For the kids there is an outdoor playground set into the hill with stunning views out to sea, a massive indoor soft play (that I found my husband dozing in one afternoon!), kids clubs with super nice staff, swimming pools, a games room and very entertaining funny evening entertainment (my kids still remember Chloe the clown).

For the grown ups there is an indoor and outdoor spa (both cater for pregnant women),  swimming pools, cocktail bars, (an adult only) reading room and a babysitting service.

There are two restaurants at the hotel which serve delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinners - again with kids menus and colouring activities. The staff are so friendly - nothing is too much trouble.

Mawgan Porth bay is amazing too - it has a few shops, cafes and restaurants - we enjoyed fish and chips one lunch time as well as a delicious fresh fish dinner on another evening. The beach is great for surfing and exploring rock pools, and in the summer months i'm sure its great for sunbathing. It is also not far from one of my favourite Cornish fashion shops Roo's Beach - defiantely worth a look if you are in the area.

The only downside to our stay was that we were only there for 3 nights which wasn't long enough, next time we'll go for a minimum of 5 and do some more exploring of the local area.
